Honoring Heroes with Homes

Operation FINALLY HOME came to Wisconsin in 2015 after local builders learned about the national organization during a surprise for a veteran and his family held during the International Builders Show. Recognizing the need in Wisconsin to help our local veterans, David Belman and Tim O’Brien presented the idea of Operation FINALLY HOME to the members of the Metropolitan Builders Association. A task force was created to plan the projects and fundraising efforts. Belman Homes  signed up to build the first Operation Finally Home house in Wisconsin, which was built in the Village of Jackson.

The first 2 homes were built in the Village of Jackson as part of a housing study done through the Structural Components Builders Association. This study created new data on the difference between a stick build and a component build home. After a year of building and many pillar events along the way, US Army Sergeant Drew Wroblewski and his wife & US Army Specialist Bo Kitelinger and his family, moved into their brand new, mortgage-free homes in June of 2016.

After an outpouring of community and supplier support that a decision was made by Belman Homes to do another build in their hometown of the City of Waukesha. This two story home was built to fit the needs for US Army Specialist Philip Olson & his family. On June 10th, 2017 the home was dedicated to the Olson family.

Identifying another family in need of help in Waukesha, Operation Finally Home in Wisconsin broke ground on home #4 in late June of 2017.  The lot was donated by Belman Homes and they also built a ranch home in the Town of Waukesha to fit the needs of US Army Staff Sergeant Joe Davis & his family.  Their home was dedicated on June of 2018.

Support for these projects has continued to be strong so Operation Finally Home in Wisconsin worked with the Village of Menomonee Falls to obtain two lots for future projects.  On 10/7/18 Army Sergeant First Class Tyson Cole and family were surprised to learn they were the recipients of a new home.  The dedication for their home is 6/15/19.

Plans are underway for home #6 in Wisconsin right next door to the Cole’s home in Menomonee Falls.   The project is expected to begin in late 2019.  With continued donations and public support we will continue building homes for our wounded war heroes after this project.

Operation FINALLY HOME Mission

At Operation FINALLY HOME, we provide custom-built, mortgage free homes to America’s military Heroes and the widows of the fallen, those who have worn America’s uniform and sacrificed so much to defend our freedoms and values. We bring together corporate sponsors, builder associations, builders, developers, individual contributors, and volunteers to help these heroes and their families transition to the home front by addressing one of their most pressing needs – a home to call their own.

Operation FINALLY HOME Vision

With faith in God and determined action, we will have hundreds of homes built annually across the nation for our Heroes, those who have sacrificed while wearing America’s uniform in defense of our freedoms and values, helping them get their lives back on track after the hardships they have faced. We want Operation FINALLY HOME to be a nationally recognized charity and a household name that inspires others to help in our cause.

  • It's the most humbling set of emotions that I've ever felt. I don't know how else to describe it. It's crazy. I can't thank everybody enough.
